The Luther (by RobertDennis)
“The Luther is a “secret” sammich at ChurchKey in Logan Circle in DC. Not even on the menu. It’s a fun play on Luther Vandross’ favorite sandwich which consisted of a beef burger, cheddar cheese, bacon sandwiched between two Krispy Kreme doughnuts… I know. The version at ChurchKey features a house-made brioche donut, glazed in maple and topped with warm oven-baked pecans, sandwiching a piece of buttermilk fried chicken and wedges of applewood smoked bacon. Me and Joseph really should have split one Luther buuuut we each got our own. Joseph loved it and says it’s one of his favorite sandwiches ever. Personally, I thought it was a bit much even for me, Glutton of the World! I didn’t finish mine and I don’t think I will ever have one again but I’m glad I can say I’ve tried it. In the end, The Luther actually was too much… “
